Why Give to AAFB?

Beyond the benefit of a tax credit, your gift helps your neighbors and fellow Arizonans struggling with hunger.

For more than 25 years, AAFB has helped deliver food to food banks, connected those in need with assistance, and advocated for more effective and accessible nutrition programs. At the present time, the need for food is immediate, massive, increasing, and predicted to remain high. Almost 1 million Arizonans live in poverty, one in four of our children struggle with hunger, and record numbers receive SNAP (Food Stamps).

Your gift to AAFB is vital to combating the unacceptable problem of hunger.

Receive a Tax Credit for Your Donation to AAFB

Receive a tax credit for your donation to AAFB!  Under Arizona law (ARS43-1088.G.2), AAFB is recognized as serving the working poor.  If you qualify, it is possible to receive a FULL TAX CREDIT of up to $200 (filing as a single unmarried head of household) or $400 (married filing joint) for donating to AAFB.  Not only can you receive the Arizona tax credit, but you can also include the donation on your Federal Tax Return.  Always consult with your tax preparer or financial advisor, and visit www.azdor.gov or call 602-255-3381 or 1-800-843-7196 from area codes 520 or 928 for more information.  If you donate to a public school or a tuition assistance organization, you can receive all three Arizona tax credits.

For the 2012 tax year, donations must be postmarked by December 31, 2012.

Another Option:  If you are at least 70 1/2 years young, you may qualify to donate from your IRA without triggering tax consequences when you transfer funds directly.  Again, consult your tax preparer or financial advisor for specific advice.
