New Food Hardship Data Released
Almost 18% of Americans reported in September 2010 that they struggled to afford enough food for their household at times over the last 12 months, according to analysis of new Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index polling by the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). Interestingly, increased SNAP benefits provided by the Stimulus, as well as increased participation rates, combined to play a key role in ensuring the food hardship rates were not higher.
