Watch Ginny Hildebrand Talk About the Importance of Produce
In the first week of May, AAFB President & CEO Ginny Hildebrand, along with more than 250 attendees from around the country, attended Feeding America’s Appreciative Produce Inquiry in Columbus, OH. The purpose of the Inquiry was to brainstorm and generate ideas on acquiring and distributing an additional 1 billion pounds of fresh produce nationwide in the next 5 years. We are fortunate to be old pros here in Arizona, where our own Arizona Statewide Gleaning Project has transported more than 800 million pounds of produce since 1993. But with demand rising, we are always looking for new ways to move more produce, and for some food banks elsewhere in the country, it's important just to get them started.
