2011 Turkey Drive Information HQ

 
 


It’s that time of year, and our member food banks are gearing up with multiple events to help provide turkeys for Arizona families this holiday season.  More information about these events and new events will be posted as we receive it.  Here is a sampling of upcoming events:
  • Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona (Tucson & Southern Arizona): Come out to Thanksgiving on the Mayflower, a huge food and fund drive hosted by 94.9 MIX-fm’s Bobby Rich on November 17 at Sunflower Market at 4282 N. 1st Avenue in Tucson. The Amado branch of the food bank, located at 28720 S. Nogales Hwy in Amado, is also accepting frozen turkey donations through December 31.
     
  • Desert Mission Food Bank (Phoenix): Drop off a turkey during the annual John C. Lincoln Turkey Drive, held on November 17, 18 and 21 from 6:30-9:00 a.m. at the John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, North Mountain Hospital, NSS Center, or the Desert Mission Food Bank itself—which will also accept turkeys during regular business hours throughout the holiday season.
     
  • St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance (Phoenix & Northern Arizona): Join us for the Fifth Annual Super Saturday Turkey Drive on November 19 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: the goal is to collect 6,000 turkeys, which can be dropped off at any of 14 locations around the Valley and two in Flagstaff. While there, enter for a chance to win one of 16 $250 US Airways travel voucher!
     
  • United Food Bank (East Valley): Drop off a turkey on November 12 at Dana Park Village Square (Val Vista and Baseline) from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or on November 19 at Gilbert Days (Downtown Gilbert area). The food bank also has extended hours for turkey donations throughout November:
    • November 12: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
    • November 14-18: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • November 19: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
    • November 21-23: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
